Is it just food or is it more?

Catering can conjor up many meanings, for example when I was a school, the meals were called catering. Later as I grew up catering was what large factories did to feed their workers so the meaning for me has always had a rather negative feeling about it with low quality fooid served to the masses, but weddings are also catered so maybe its not that bad after all...but of course this is a matter of opinion!!
